This deciduous terrestrial grows in the open eucalypt forests around
Brisbane. As it is so small, it is easily overlooked.
The flower stem grows to 35cm with 6 to 16 crowded flowers. The
flowers are only about 5mm across and are redish brown with purple lines
and numerous course hairs. The labellum apex extends to a long thin point
which recurves forming a loop.
This Genoplesium can be distinguished from all others by its abundant
hairs and long labellum apex which recurves to form a loop.
