This deciduous terrestrial saprophyte grows in the cool moist forests
around Brisbane.
Being a saprophyte, this orchid has no leaves and consists of an
underground tuber. When in flower, the flower stem grows to 90cm
tall with up to 70 flowers. The flowers are tubular about 20mm long
with brown outside and white inside.
This distinctive orchid cannot be confused with any other and is easily
identified by its brown tubular flowers with white inside. |
