The ANOS (Qld) Kabi Group will host the 7th National ANOS Show and Conference in 2013. The Conference and Show will be held during the period 21 to 25 August 2013. This is a week prior to the Speciosum Spectacular in Kempsey NSW which will allow attendees to participate in both events. The venue is the Community Centre, Strathpine which is in the Moreton Bay Regional Council on the northern boundary of Brisbane. |

Conference VenueThe venue is well serviced by public transport. There is a railway station 200 metres across the road with excellent services from Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. There is also a bus terminal 200 metres away at Strathpine Westfield Shopping Centre. There is limited free onsite parking plus plenty of free parking in the nearby streets. The venue has two very large rooms which will be used for the Display Area and Sales Area. The Regional Art Gallery will provide an excellent venue for our guest speakers and this is only 30 metres from the entrance to the Community Centre. The cocktail party will be held in the conference venue. |

Banquet VenueThe Banquet will be held 11.5km by road from the conference venue at the Community Centre, Kedron Wavell Services Club, Kittyhawk Drive, Chermside. This venue has plenty of free on site parking and is a short walk from Chermside Shopping Centre which has a bus interchange for public transport. The banquet will commence at 6:30pm for pre-dinner drinks for a 7pm start. |

AccommodationThere is a wide range of motel accommodation on the Northside of Brisbane within 20 to 40 minutes drive of the venue. Here is a list of the local accommodation not too far from the venue. |

SpeakersWe are confident that our guest speaker program will be a highlight of the conference . We already have a number of eminent people who have accepted our invitation while discussions are continuing with others. Show ScheduleThe conference show schedule has now been completed and is available for download. The is an OPEN show and entries are open to all orchid growers, not just A.N.O.S. members. Only Australasian orchid species and hybrids made entirely from Australasian orchid species and their hybrids can be entered. |

Bus TripThere will be one bus trip and that will be to Mt.Glorious which is close to Brisbane and readily accessible from our venue. This is a beautiful area and registrants will be able to view flowering orchids in their natural environment only a short, easy walk from the bus. Those wishing to attend the bus trip should book their seat on the conference registration form. |

4 Day Orchid Tag Along Tour |
|
| What |
There will be a four day tag along tour after the ANOS conference viewing
flowering orchids in the wild. This is perfect for those people attending the Kempsey
Speciosum Spectacular after the conference and looking for something to do
between the two events.
Participants can attend on one or more days and need not attend all days. Participants with their own cars can leave early each day if desired. Four wheel drive cars are not required. People without cars will be able to attend as passengers of Kabi members or participating conference registrants cars. |

| Walking | This trip will entail walking in national parks on formed tracks which may be rough or slippery. Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness and be capable of walking distances of up to 2km on typical national park tracks. Walking distances will vary from a few meters from the cars to two kilometres but participants may stay with cars instead of walking to the more distant orchids if desired. | |

The orchids seen will depend on the weather which controls what is flowering but
will probably include at least species in the genus below.
