Peristeranthus hillii
This epiphyte grows in the moist open forests around Brisbane.
When in flower, this orchid can be very spectacular due to the number of
flowers.
Peristeranthus hillii grows a stem to about 30cm with
numerous stiff leaves to 25cm x 4 cm which distinctively droop at the end. The
racemes grow to 30cm long holding up to 80 flower about 7mm across. The
flowers are yellow green with crimson spots and have a sickly sweet fragrance.
There is no other similar orchid in Brisbane to this distinct
orchid.

This spectacular plant had 16 flower racemes with up to 80 flowers per
raceme giving an estimated over 1000 flowers.
