| This epiphyte or lithophyte grows in the rainforest verges around
Brisbane where it hangs conspicuously from the trees.
The leaves are pendulous and ungrooved and grow to 100cm long by 6mm
thick. The flower is up to 50mm across and is yellow with purple
striations towards the centre.
The only other orchid which is similar is Dockrillia
teretifolia which can be distinguished by its smaller white
flowers, its much branched zig-zag stems and its lack of aerial roots. |
