| Things To do: Lowood at the Southern end of the Valley Of The Lakes, offer visitors a choice of Galleries, Craft Shops and Antiques, Country Market, Nurseries and Winery. For the exercise conscious, why not travel the 9km 'Rail Trail' by foot, bicycle or horse and experience scenic views along the Brisbane River between Lowood and Fernvale or try out Local Heritage Walk. Lake Wivenhoe is renowned for rowing regattas in Jan, Feb and March, being over twice the size of Sydney harbour with spectacular country views. It offers sailing or canoeing but only non-motorized boats. For the skiing enthusiasts Lake Somerset is the place to go. Fishing licenses are required which can be obtained through Aust. Post Offices. July brings the ever-popular Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Fun Run right to our front door.
